It’s off topic but briefly.

The Lockdowns were far from “lunatic”. At the stage of the pandemic they were used they were essential.

Yes I receive pensions, because I am retired. So no need for the support given to others. None of my pensions are based on final salary. All were money purchase schemes.

I own 3 small rental units, which I purchased to supplement my pensions. I could have spent that money on a bigger house and a luxury car but as I don’t need either I didn’t.

Yes Cornwall is lovely. I took the decision to move here. Nothing to stop anyone doing the same. They just need the determination. Many achieve it. Some with next to no money.

Let me give you an example of the lockdown madness - when the “kent variant” was announced the whole of Kent was put into lockdown when the outbreak of cases was in Dover - I live on the Kent/Surrey border and approximately 80 miles from Dover yet everything in my town had to close so we used to drive to either East Grinstead or Oxted for a meal out as everything there was open.

Why bother with this, seriously.

Best thing is ignore

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

That kind of thing is inevitable in a crisis when you need to issue simple instructions in a rush. It doesn’t undermine the necessity for the strategy at all. It is just a side effect which doubtless was quickly modified and made to fit the real problem.

What, like for the millions of different genders?

Of course there are many things which a government must decide upon and control on behalf of the country, mainly in areas of foreign affairs, defence, law and order, public services, social welfare - and these things need funding. Beyond these things government should keep out, and the many layers of government and bureaucracy should be pruned and taxation reduced as far a practicable - giving more tax to governments is like giving whisky to an alcoholic. The key to progress is to allow the country to shape its economic future through the free choice of its citizens (Brexit was a key facilitator of this).

We can agree that there are some things which are better done centrally, some locally and some individually. The only difference will be where the dividing lines are drawn,.

You cannot though just allow the future to be shaped by the free choice of individuals. Some things are too important to be left to selfish desires. It requires leadership and direction to make sure the ship of state is not headed for the rocks but for a safe haven. Brexit was an avoidable disaster in that regard. We now have no idea when we are heading, where the safe havens lie or how to reach them. We are a ship without a rudder, no engine and no sails, going round in circles hoping to find a lifeline.

Trump is currently holding a rally at Crotona Park in the South Bronx in deep deep blue AOC country. There was slated to be a 3500 capacity limit but it looks like it's close to 40,000 that have turned up to try & see him. And like I said this is a district that usually turns out 90% to 10% for the Dems

Is it just me, or does he look more and more like an animated shop dummy every time he appears?

Only sensible thing he's said in four years.

The jury is out and so we must now wait to see if a “hold out” has escaped the initial scrutiny and will allow Trump to claim more “exoneration” and political witchcraft at work.

Even if he is convicted his lawyers will then delay implementation until after the election, as they have with all the other cases, by appealing.

It’s really appalling how the super rich can just throw money at cases in the USA and avoid justice, whilst their jails are full of the poor, incarcerated for their inability to pay even quite small fines for minor crimes.

The Democrats need to get their act together quickly so an impending disaster can be avoided.

'Justice'.

Scam trial.

After Trump's elected the only justice will be this judge losing his job and titles.....along with many many others who are getting what they deserve.

Can you example these minor crimes. In the usa I think 3 strikes stands so tough if you did it 3 times you should learn your lesson really.
