I would never vote for anyone who offered me a tax cut just to encourage me to vote for them. I regard bribery as a crime and if anything it turns me away, not towards. So I do what I believe is correct. Which is to ignore any personal implications and concentrate on the collective.

Nevertheless, my basic approach still applies. I try to look at what's best for us as a whole, and not what's best for me in the short term because ultimately that's going to be in my best interests too. As for you thinking that you should be taxed more, why don't you give the extra amount that you think should be taxed from you and give it to a charity - I'm sure they would spend it better than any government would.
