Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I fully realise you are living the experience whilst people like me are only observing it. Sometimes though when you are immersed in something you cannot see the bigger picture. Something that should see him in jail and banned forever from public office. I don’t have any special affinity for Biden or the Democrats. My concerns are all about Trump. Not because of what he might do to the USA. That’s their business and not mine. My concerns are about what he might do to us and the rest of the world. Something that some Americans seem to believe is irrelevant to them. If the USA enters a chaotic period then we all suffer. If the USA abrogate their leadership of the western world and start to undermine NATO then the threat from the east grows. I worry that Trump and Putin already have an “understanding” about spheres of influence that have been designed by Putin, who seems several times more astute than Trump. In short whilst you may see Trump as the best option for your current domestic situation (which I don’t) I am certain he isn’t a wise choice for the rest of the world and it’s future. A world which you too are part of and as the global economy and security impacts everyone is ultimately vital for you too. I have no vote in who you choose as your President but I have a great deal of interest. I think that who occupies the WH has much more relevance to the future of the UK than who sits in No 10.

Both are too old. Beyond that though one consults and delegates and is surrounded by an experienced team. The other is a bully who thinks he knows better about everything than anyone else, changes what he says to suit his audience, and doesn’t respect democracy. So if forced to choose between a one old man disaster and another old man with a team around him who should it be? Neither are good. Both are pretty bad. One is outright dangerous. The other is relatively safe.

The damage isn’t though just collateral if in time it threatens you too. If by putting yourself first you so damage others that their damage makes your own situation worse then it’s unwise to do so. When countries possess the capacity to destroy the world if provoked it isn’t just unwise. Creating instability becomes a huge gamble. Much better surely to try to ensure stability and manage change through mutual respect and cooperation. I don’t trust Trump an inch. I don’t think he is very bright, contrary to his own opinion.
