Crystal Palace were defeated 2-0 at home to Leicester City.

The Foxes moved up to third in the table after a reasonably comfortable victory at Selhurst Park.

In a first half of few chances, Palace keeper Vicente Guaita blocked Jamie Vardy's angled shot and was then alert to save at the striker's feet when he got between two Palace defenders.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Schlupp's deflected effort was tipped over by Kasper Schmeichel in Palace's best opportunity.

Leicester centre back Caglar Soyuncu put his team ahead on 57 minutes with a header from James Maddison's corner.

They made sure of the points two minutes from the end, with a first-time finish from Vardy after a one-two with substitute Demarai Gray.

Palace: Guaita, Ward, Van Aanholt, Cahill, Tomkins, Schlupp, Milivojevic, Kouyate (Meyer 74), McArthur (McCarthy 78), Zaha, Ayew (Benteke 78).

Not used: Hennessey, Dann, Kelly, Camarasa.

Leicester: Schmeichel, Chilwell, Soyuncu, Evans, Pereira, Ndidi, Barnes (Morgan 84), Maddison (Praet 90+1), Tielemans, Perez (Gray 74), Vardy.
