Crystal Palace saw off League One side Doncaster Rovers 2-0 to progress into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Jeffrey Schlupp netted his fifth goal of the season in the eighth minute with a deflected finish into the bottom corner after a fine individual run from the halfway line.

Midfielder Max Meyer nodded in Andros Townsend's cross from close range to extend the lead in first-half stoppage time.

Doncaster improved after the break with efforts from Ben Whiteman, Alfie May and James Coppinger but they were unable to find the net.

Palace's win away at Doncaster was the first since August 1960 and they are in the quarters for only the second time in 23 years.

Doncaster: Marosi, Blair, Downing, Anderson, Andrew, Whiteman, Kane, Crawford (Rowe 64), May (Boocock 90), Marquis, Coppinger (Sadlier 64).
