Connor Wickham: Back fit again

Connor Wickham: Back fit again

Team news

Scott Dann and Connor Wickham are back in the squad after returning from injury.

Christian Benteke is still absent, but Roy Hodgson will be likely to pick the same side that drew 0-0 with Manchester United last weekend.

For Burnley, James Tarkowski returns following a hernia operation and Johann Berg Gudmundsson is available after recovering from illness.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"We have had chances at home, and created more chances than we have away. But we have missed most of them.

"We aren't conceding that many, but we do need to score more goals. We are conscious of that and with the great home support we get, the faith and belief from them, I will always believe home games give us a good chance to get wins."

Talking about being active in the January transfer window he said: "I think it will depend on what happens with the players returning from injury,"

"Connor Wickham, if he continues like he is at the moment, will be an option, and [Christian] Benteke we don't think is months away, it is more a question of weeks away, so it could be that we have a lot more options than we have had.

"But to be fair, Jordan Ayew hasn't done badly at all - he has done well in the games - and Alex Sorloth is coming back into some sort of form."

Sean Dyche

"No-one will ever put as much pressure on you as yourself. There's always pressure, that's the game that we're in.

"The belief has been strong here for a number of years. A lot of our performances this season have been very close. Last year we were on the right side of it."
