Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"The fixtures are on paper tough ones, but I tend to think most fixtures are tough on paper because the Premier League is a very competitive league and there aren't any games where you can think you are not guaranteed an easy passage.

"But we have shown in the past that we are capable of surviving those periods. We don’t have any anecdote for what may happen, other than we have got to make certain that we maximise the efficiency we can bring to the game, in terms of our defending and attacking.

"But we are in the Premier League to play these games, and I don’t really subscribe to the theory we should be worried about the fixtures, or in any way anxious about them; they are the ones we want and it gives us the chance to prove we are a good Premier League team if we can match them."

Patrick van Aanholt

"Richarlison and Walcott have got good pace up front, they create a lot of chances. So if we can stop them, that’ll be a plus for us but it’s not just them because they need the team and the team need them. I think we’ve just got to be aware of the danger and focus on our game.

"It’s going to be a tough game, a good game at Goodison Park. We’ve just got to play our own game like we always play and see what happens."

Marco Silva

"We had two good wins in the Premier League and we have to work really hard to achieve a third win in a row.

"It's a tough game. Normally I like to look at what's happened over the last few years against the opponent we will play. I think the last 11 we played against Crystal Palace won just three that's not a good number.

"What we need to do on Sunday is play at our best level and respect our opponent. Normally in counter-attack they are really strong.

"In the normal way we will have more of the possession but we have to play in our best way and keep good balance as well to create a chance to score to control the game more but in the same way we have to keep our balance all the time."
