"It was an excellent job that [David Wagner], his staff and his players did, there's no doubt about that. Everyone at the club must feel very proud of being promoted and perhaps being underdogs and staying in the league, and showing that they do deserve to be there again.
"The second season is difficult, but I have got to be honest, I think so is the third, fourth, fifth and sixth season. If you aren’t going forwards in this league, you are definitely going backwards.
"I am sure they will be aware of that and they will want to be better this year than last year, they will know that is important to do that.
"This is a home game against a team they will regard as being in the same area as them. They will be doing all they can to get the three points, and we are aware of that.
"But we have to show we are as anxious to get the three points, and then it will be about the performance on the day deciding it. It is up to us to give that performance."
David Wagner
“It’s important for every team to get a first win as soon as possible.
“We’ve tried it four times so far and we haven’t got it and now we have another opportunity at home, in front of our supporters, to make it happen; this is our aim.
“Even if we know it’s a difficult task again in front of us, we are all aware of the quality Palace has and we know we have to be on our best.”
