Team news

Palace striker Christian Benteke will sit the game out with a one-match suspension after collecting his fifth booking of the season against Leicester last time out.

Midfielder Luka Milivojevic is available after serving his suspension at the weekend and boss Roy Hodgson must decide whether to bring him in at the expense of James McArthur.

Defenders Mamadou Sakho (calf), Joel Ward (groin) are still out, along with long-term absentee Connor Wickham (knee).

Swansea striker Wilfried Bony won't play due to a hamstring problem. Meanwhile, Ki Sung-yeung (calf) and Leroy Fer (back) will both be assessed on their fitness, along with Wayne Routledge (leg) and Kyle Bartley (knee)

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"The last few games have probably exceeded our realistic thoughts on what might have been possible and over the last seven games have overachieved in respect of the number of points we have taken from those matches.

"Expectation is a dangerous word because we expect quite a lot from them and we think there are some good quality players in the squad and are looking for quite big things from the group.

"I don’t like to say it has exceeded my expectations but with no points after seven games and someone said you would have 17 points after 18 games, I would have said that is not too bad for a return."

Caretaker boss Leon Britton

"The natural reaction for the players too is disappointment, if a manager leaves they understand it is because they have not performed as they should be.

"It’s a results business and if you don't perform the manager will go. We don't have time to dwell on it, there is a big game ahead.

"But players have to take their share of the blame, take responsibility when a manager leaves. "It is everyone together when things go well, it is the same when things do not go well."
