Team news

Eagles manager Sam Allardyce will decide whether to recall fit-again Scott Dann to the side or stick with the same back four that helped secure victory over Middlesbrough last week.

Bakary Sako returns, but Loic Remy and Mathieu Flamini (both knocks) are doubtful of making it. Goalkeeper Steve Mandanda (knee) will be checked on his match fitness.

West Brom midfielder Matt Phillips will take a late fitness test after recovery from a hamstring injury. Defender Craig Dawson is fit to play despite suffering a possible concussion against Bournemouth.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Winning gives you a lift but I would remind the lads about the lift we got winning at Bournemouth and then what we did against Sunderland. If we win it'll be outstanding back-to-back victories but if not, please let's come away with a good result, a point.

"Scott Dann is fit to start. Whether he will play: there is a strong squad available for selection. But the team who played last week made a big statement as regards whether I change the side. The only consideration is tactically against West Brom, which might disappoint some, but then again might not.

"We've got to win three on the trot or three out of four or four out of five to get us out of trouble.

"He's [Christian Benteke] scored 11 goals this season: in a struggling side that's a pretty good return. He hasn't scored recently and he was terribly frustrated last week he didn't score towards the end when Andros could have fed him. He lives on goals; he's a goal machine.

"We need our players to put him into good positions and give him the right type of ball so that he can score more goals."

Tony Pulis

"They’ve spent an enormous amount of money. And they did it try to get in the top six so where it’s all gone wrong I don’t know, but I’ll have a glass of wine with Sam afterwards.

"People will say we’re going into the game as favourites. But if you actually look at the squad, what they've got and the money they've spent.

"We were looking at just their forward line and they've got some fantastic players there. If we don’t turn up and really knuckle down and work hard we will get beaten without a question of a doubt.

"They're in a false position with the amount of money they’ve spent, the strength of their squad and the amount of players they’ve got."
