Crystal Palace grabbed a late equaliser to draw 3-3 away to Hull City.
There was more terrible defending from Alan Pardew's side and they were lucky to not be defeated by the Tigers who began the day a place off the bottom of the table.
The Eagles were on the wrong end of a howler from referee Mike Jones who awarded the hosts a penalty after 25 minutes. Scott Dann was adjudged to have fouled Robert Snodgrass in the area despite no contact from the defender. He then got up to convert the penalty.
Pardew shuffled his side for the second half by bringing on Zeki Fryers for Andros Townsend and switched to a back three to match up with Hull.
Palace were handed a penalty of their own in the 52nd minute after Wilfried Zaha was tripped in the box by Snodgrass and Christian Benteke scored the spot kick for his eighth goal of the season.
Zaha gave Palace the lead on 70 minutes with a fantastic goal as he skillfully tricked his way into the box past Sam Clucas and Tom Huddlestone before blasting home a rasping drive.
Just two minutes later, Hull levelled it at 2-2 through Adama Diomande who turned Damian Delaney and Dann on the edge of the box and poked past Wayne Hennessey.
More comical defending allowed Hull to go in front in the 78th minute as sub Yohan Cabaye let Jake Livermore go free and then turn Dann to score.
Substitute Fraizer Campbell headed Zaha's cross at the near post to score against his old club to draw Palace level again in the 89th minute to rescue a point.
