April 2 2016
Crystal Palace snatched a vital away point with a 2-2 draw against West Ham United.
Despite the result, The Eagles have not won in 14 Premier League matches and are still the only side in the four English divisions to yet win a 2016 league game.
They got off to a fine start by taking the lead in the 15th minute through Damien Delaney who headed home after Adrian parried Bakary Sako's free-kick when it was going out of play.
The lead lasted just three minutes as the Irons got on terms when Diafra Sakho nodded down Michail Antonio's cross and Lanzini fired low past Wayne Hennessey.
Dimitri Payet put the hosts in front on 41 minutes with a superb, dipping 20-yard free-kick that flew into the top right corner.
Palace boss Alan Pardew withdrew Wilfried Zaha for Dwight Gayle at the break to give his side more of a cutting edge up front.
West Ham were dealt a harsh blow in the 67th minute when Mark Clattenburg sent off Cheikhou Kouyate for a clumsy lunge on Gayle.
Eight minutes later, Gayle snatched an equaliser after Angelo Ogbonna's poor clearance fell straight to the Palace striker who slotted into the net – his first in the league since January 2015.
Alan Pardew said: "I thought the red card was harsh and I would've been disappointed to have that happen to one of my players.
"When you are 2-1 down at West Ham, in the form they are in, you take a 2-2. I'm delighted for the team and they showed their heart is still very much in it. We've got ourselves into a bit of trouble but this is a great result.
"Every point in the Premier League is gold-dust, especially to get something at West Ham. It was a great performance and a great result. West Ham had to defend for their lives at the end."
Slaven Bilic said: "I want to commend the players it was a good game of football, open, and we deserved to win.
"When it was 11 v 11 the scoreline was correct. They caused us a threat, but only at set pieces, then we turned it around."
"I would love to say a lot of things [about red card]. I asked the legal people what can I say and what I can't. It is never a red card and it's the fourth game in a row we are getting decisions that are costing us.
"We're fighting to finish high. If the opponent is better than you, ok, but it is frustrating. We aren't going to sink or moan - we will come back and continue to play good football."
