Selhurst Park, Tuesday 8.00pm
Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway could stick with the same side that beat Middlesbrough 4-1 at the weekend. Jacob Butterfield, whose loan deal from Norwich has been extended until March, is likely to sit on the bench.
Jon Williams could be rested as he continues his comeback from injury, while forward Kevin Phillips is pushing for a start after scoring twice in three sub appearances.
The Palace players on the Selhurst Park treatment table remains unchanged. Defenders Paddy McCarthy, Joel Ward (both groin) and Danny Gabbidon (hamstring), midfielders Owen Garvan (knee) and Andre Moritz (ankle) and striker Alex Nimely (hamstring) miss out.
Bristol City left-back Greg Cunningham faces a fitness test after his hamstring injury - Richard Foster is ready to step in.
Striker Sam Baldock is also a doubt (calf) but captain Cole Skuse should return to the midfield. Winger Albert Adomah, who was linked with a move to Palace, is looking to start after his Africa Cup of Nations excursions with Ghana.
Roy Hodgson
"I want them to go as if their lives depend on it, right from the kick-off. I want them to grab the initiative because the strides that this club has made from the end of last season is quite phenomenal.
"I want them to take that on board and feel enthusiastic about it. That is key to this run-in. Who ever relaxes, enjoys their football, believes in themselves and gets on a roll could end up being champions. It ain't all over yet. It really isn't.
"What I am trying to get to these boys is the enthusiasm I have got and the way I believe in them. I want them to start games with that vibe. We got a great goal early on and then we faded away.
"We weren't moving it quick enough and didn't have the pace and rhythm I want. I have got some great players and the team structure is coming. I think we are getting stronger.
"But we are wasting too many minutes of too many games. We have beaten one of our rivals and that is a really important thing to do - now let's see if we get on a decent run and remember how to win games."
Sean O'Driscoll
"It's not being negative, it's plain commonsense. We have found a way of playing that suits the players we have and there is no point in trying to do things differently.
"We cannot go out and play the same way as Palace and throw caution to the wind, because we don't have those kind of players. If we do not make ourselves hard to beat and play an open game, the best sides in the Championship will punish us.
"Our best chance is to be organised, hard to break down and hard-working. We came very close to getting something at Leeds playing that way and were well in the game at Blackburn until the 65th minute.
"Those are the things we have been working on in training and there is no point in training one way and then playing another."
Albert Adomah
"I spoke to my agent and I knew all about the speculation. But I never spoke to Crystal Palace because things did not go that far.
"To be honest, I was more focused on my football and playing for Ghana. I've been here before with speculation and I always try and keep my head down. There is always going to be speculation and I didn't allow it to bother me.
"When the time is right for me to move on, I'm sure everyone will know. For now, my best chance of getting into the Premier League is to play well for Bristol City and help keep them in the Championship.
"I have another year on my contract after this season and it is up to Bristol City if they want to sell me. It's not my call.
"If they accept a bid, then it will be up to me to say yes or no. But I cannot think about a move to the Championship, because I'm only interested in the Premier League."
