Turf Moor, Saturday 3.00pm
Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha will have his ankle injury checked after he was forced come off against Stoke in the FA Cup last week.
Top scorer Glenn Murray missed that match through illness and will be assessed, but Danny Gabbidon (hamstring) is doubtful of making the trip.
Burnley strikers Charlie Austin and Martin Paterson have hamstring problems. Chris McCann (hamstring) may come back into the side, but defender Ben Mee (knee) is definitely out.
Roy Hodgson
"It is just wonderful to have an opportunity to put a footprint down of how you want to play and then get that through to the whole club. I think they are embracing that.
"So they were used to winning it back and then counter-attacking. Now I want them used to the ball and we managed to do that. But I’m sat there watching my team and it looks like my team now. If that’s after nine weeks then I am really looking forward to the rest of the four years.
"If you look at the strength in-depth, we have got Wilf but then we have got young ones coming in behind him who might push him as well. It is all very exciting.
"If you look at Jonny Williams for example, he lit up the crowd with one turn. It is just beautiful to see. Hopefully they will get used to where I want them to go in my jigsaw and it will get them the ball and success, and they will keep believing in what we are all saying. I think Palace are not a bad team at all."
Burnley captain Jason Shackell
“Zaha’s lightning quick, which causes any team problems. He’s got that little bit of skill. I’m sure he’ll be looking to push onwards and upwards.
“It’s a good test for our players as well though. Tripps (Kieran Trippier) has had a great season so far and it will be another good test for him up against Zaha. It’s one we’re looking forward to, one we’ll relish and hopefully we can get the win.
“We’re so organised now. Teams are finding it hard not only to score goals but to create chances against us, which is an amazing plus.
“Going forward we’re still creating a lot of chances so maybe it’s just about being a bit more ruthless in both boxes at the minute and make sure you turn those chances into goals and keep them out then hopefully we can pick up some more wins.
“Every team will say there have been games where they maybe should have got more out of them. But we have and to still be only four points off the play-offs when we feel like we’ve been inconsistent and maybe could have and should have done better then that’s a huge positive. If we can push on and keep performance levels high, hopefully we’ll be there or thereabouts.”
