Team news

Palace's top scorer Glenn Murray returns from a one-game ban to face his former side Brighton. Darcy Blake (illness) hopes to start but Brazilian midfielder Andre Moritz (dead leg) misses out. Medium-term absentees Paddy McCarthy and Jon Williams are still injured.

Brighton winger Vicente is still sidelined with a thigh tendon injury, while centre half Adam El-Abd hopes for a recall to the side.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"It's not a rivalry the rest of football knows about. Even the geography doesn't really make sense. It's a bit weird but whatever fans think, you have to appreciate that and give a performance the fans are proud of. I've got no doubts we can do that.

"You've got to try and remember what gets you results and focus on being brave enough in that environment to produce the processes [that gets you results]. I've got no doubt our lads will be in the perfect frame of mind to rise to the challenge.

"It will be a challenge because Brighton are playing very well. I like the way they try and play and it should make for a good game of football.

"There will be lots of passes and exciting wing play. They've got Will Buckley while we've got Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha," Holloway continued. "It will be tenacious in midfield and it will be about which defence can cope with the other's attacks best."

Gus Poyet

“I saw Mister Holloway very upset with other people talking about Zaha. Apparently it’s a new rule, so because it’s his rule I am going to respect it and I’m not going to talk about Zaha.

“I thought comment, good things about a player, were nice for football and the player himself but apparently not, you cannot talk about his players, so I will not talk about his players. I hope he doesn’t talk about ours.”
