Crystal Palace suffered a second straight league defeat with a 4-1 reverse at Bristol City.

Both sides lost on the opening day of the season and it was Bristol who drew first blood after nine minutes when Jon Stead teed up Ryan Taylor to score with a low shot from inside the box. Stead had earlier hit the woodwork with a header.

The Robins netted again just three minutes later through Martyn Woolford who fired a left-footed shot beyond Julian Speroni from 12 yards.

Just before the hour mark, Dean Moxey gave away a penalty for a foul on Stead in the area and he picked himself up to score for 3-0.

Kagisho Dikgacoi pulled a goal back for the Eagles on 74 minutes with a header after good work from Owen Garvan and Aaron Wilbraham.

But City's Albert Adomah completed the rout with a 25-yard effort into the bottom corner for the fourth Bristol goal eight minutes from time.
