Team news

Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman could hand midfielder Kashigo Dikgacoi a recall after resting him against Peterborough. He came back from international duty with South Africa just 24 hours earlier.

Nathaniel Clyne is unlikely to play due to a knee injury with Paul McShane set to keep his place right-back. Left-back Dean Moxey has recovered from illness and could start after impressing off the bench against Peterborough.

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn is back in the dug-out after missing the defeat to Leicester with a virus. Skipper Sammy Clingan and striker Cody McDonald could start, but defender Chris Hussey and midfielder Conor Thomas are out with injury.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"We are still growing and still have a long way to go. But if we can keep that back door closed we are improving going forward.

"This division is very tight, not many teams will run away with a result. Most games will be a 2-1 or a 3-2 or whatever and we are starting to emerge as a team that does that. Hopefully, that will move us up the league."

Coventry's Richard Keogh

"It is frustrating to lose against Leicester but we have to pick ourselves up again and hopefully use our good home form against a decent Palace team.

"Palace have had a solid season and have got a very good defensive record having only conceded ten goals – the same at Birmingham at home – so it might be one of those games where we have got to be a little bit patient.

"They have got pace in the wide areas with players like Wilfried Zaha and I am sure they set up to counter so it is going to be a tough game."
