Dikgacoi: Missed a sitter from 5 yards out

Crystal Palace were on the end of a 3-0 defeat to Leicester City, making it four games in a row without scoring.

The only change to the Palace lineup was in Scannell dropping to the bench in favour of Jonathan Parr.

Leicester came out of the blocks the quickest from the off and Palace spent a lot of the first half soaking up the pressure.

Jermaine Beckford's wasted chances and a one handed save from Julian Speroni were the only notable incidents in the first 45 minutes.

It was Beckford though that took the lead for the Foxes ten minutes after the break, producing a neat finish after being set up by Richie Wellens.

Kagisho Dikgacoi blew a chance from 5 yards out for Palace on the hour mark, and new signing Chris Martin, coming on a second half substitute, had two chances to put the Eagles back in to contention.

However it got worse for the Eagles when midfielder Paul Gallagher scored two goals in 3 minutes to put the game beyond the South Londoners.

The first a dipping shot from 20 yards out which nestled in the top corner, and then an unstoppable 35 yard right foot shot which gave Speroni no chance.
