Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm
Palace skipper Paddy McCarthy returns to the squad after completing his suspension following his red card at QPR. Alex Marrow is still out with an ankle injury and David Wright is a doubt due to a calf problem.
Barnsley centre-backs Stephen Foster (hip) and Paul McShane (hamstring) are fit and available for selection. Chelsea on-loan midfielder Jacob Mellis is struggling with a hamstring strain.
Mark Robins
"We need eight points so with eight games remaining that's not beyond us. Three more wins out of eight games would do that, but of course I'd like us to do even better than that.
"Palace have been a mixed bag, but they've got a decent home record. They've got some good experienced players so we know it's going to be tough.
"They'll be fighting for their lives, but we had a good win against them earlier in the season, so we're really looking forward to the game."
"We're four points clear, but Sheffield United seem to be hitting some form. We've got some big games coming up and I'm really looking forward to it.
"I've had a horrible time with injuries this season but I'm just about there with my fitness now and it's a good time to be running into some form.
"I actually had a look at the stats while we were off and my ratio for goals to games is as good this season as it was last season, so I'm pleased with that. I've not played as many games but I've still scored seven times and I hope I can get a few more before we finish.
"But, as I've said before, it really doesn't matter who gets the goals we just need to get the points and get to safety as soon as possible.
"Saving ourselves on the last day last season was unbelievable. An amazing experience. But we don't want to get it to get anywhere near that close this time."
Gavin Mahon
"There is a difficult period coming up which is a challenge for me, for Dougie and for all the players and we are all ready for it.
"Dougie knows what he is going to get with me, an experienced professional and an experienced footballer around the ground and the training ground.
"At this time of the season you just need a bit of guile and an old head around the place to calm it down in games when you are winning one nil and need to shut up shop.
"You need little things like that, a bit of experience in knowing how to kill games off, and I think that is what I can bring to the team."
