Team news

Midfield goal-getter Neil Danns may come in to start his first game of the new season after his second half appearance at Barnsley last week.

Winger Sean Scannell and left-back Lee Hills are still missing with knee injuries.

Ipswich defender Darren O'Dea is expected to make his debut after arriving on loan from Celtic.

Winger Carlos Edwards is out for a couple of months with a groin injury but Gareth McAuley has recovered from a back problem.

Quotes

Owen Garven

"I do not think I have a point to prove to him [Roy Keane]. You do not want to go down that route really, I am not that type of person.

"I am only interesting in proving a point to myself, the rest will follow. I do not really know if I had a good relationship with Keane to be honest but that does not concern me.

"Those days are gone and all that matters to me now is playing well for Crystal Palace. It will probably be a bit strange playing against the lads so early on in the season but it is a game I am looking forward to.

"I know the lads and what they are good at and they know what I am good at so it will be interesting to see who wins out."

David Wright

"Any player who plays against their old club wants to do well. But at the same time you've got to put that to the back of your mind and be as professional as you can.

"At Barnsley it took us about 45 minutes to get started, we went into the break and we had a few words with each other and the gaffer spoke to us and second half we performed better.

"We can't afford to take 45 minutes to get going, we need to start straight away against Ipswich."
