Hillsborough, Sunday 1.00pm
Crystal Palace have midfielder Neil Danns suspended for this crucial match after he was sent off for aiming a head butt in Monday's draw with West Brom. Nick Carle is set to replace him in the middle. Left-back Lee Hills is out for the season with a knee injury.
Sheffield Wednesday striker Jermaine Johnson has overcome hamstring problem and could start, while midfielder Tommy Miller has recovered from his calf injury and may feature.
Roy Hodgson
"If we go to Hillsborough and park the bus outside our 18-yard box we are asking for trouble. You cannot go into a game like this looking to play for a draw as you are likely to get your trousers pulled down.
"We must not let them get at us. It is a massive mental challenge and the players are ready for a game of this magnitude. We have to go up there and sort them out and stay in this division.
"It is in our own hands and up to us. It is going to be a great occasion with a full house.
"But these are the games you want to be involved in in football. We have a squad of players that are extremely strong mentally and we have to prove that on Sunday."
Alan Irvine
"I sat down at Selhurst Park on Monday night and the Crystal Palace fans made a fantastic atmosphere. Hopefully our fans will generate an even better atmosphere than that.
"There will be more of them and the place will be packed out, so we need them to make a cauldron of noise at Hillsborough - if they can do that for the whole 90 minutes then they will be a huge help to us.
"Our fans have been fantastic. Down at Cardiff they made an awful lot of noise, they had to withstand a real rollercoaster of emotions, but they were behind us all the way.
"We are going to need them to do that on Sunday and I don't feel they will let us down in any way at all. They have been fantastic in all of the time I have been here and if they can do that again on Sunday then it gives us a better chance. It's the biggest game of the season without any question."
