Glanford Park, Saturday 3.00pm
Crystal Palace right-back Danny Butterfield is in line keep his place in a front three after his brilliant hat-trick in Tuesday's 3-1 FA Cup win against Wolves.
Alan Lee suffered a head injury in that match and needed stitiches but should be fit to play. Lee Hills is available for selection after being cup tied, while Paddy McCarthy is still sidelined (shoulder).
Scunthorpe defender David Mirfin hopes to recover from a hamstring injury for Saturday's clash. Michael Raynes, signed from Stockport on Monday, could replace Mirfin if he is not fit for his Iron debut
Roy Hodgson
"I asked a lot of questions about myself [after the 4-0 defeat at home to Scunthorpe]. If Simon [Jordan] hadn't been the chairman I probably would have left. I had a chat just with him and my assistant Mick Jones and they both said not to be silly and that it was a one-off. But I must admit I did consider whether I wanted to continue.
"But by the time I got up on the Sunday I just realised it was more of a challenge, I knew our next game was West Brom away, who were flying, and I just got down to preparing for that."
Nigel Adkins
"We had a very good January and started the new decade well at Scunthorpe United. Now what we've got to do is focus on one game at a time.
"Our next game is Crystal Palace at home, which we know will be a very tough test for us. The players are well aware that they can't rest on their laurels. It's one game at a time, we're not going to jump ahead.
"For us to be successful we have to work very, very hard in every game.Yes, we've got some players with very good individual ability but being a cohesive unit it what it's all about.
"The team spirit is there for all to see. The players work extremely hard for each other and that's great. As a team we've always had belief. It's more or less the same side that took us up into the Championship - the spirit and camaraderie is there.
"We went four games undefeated before Christmas so the belief has always been there anyway. Our home form has been exceptional and we've got to concentrate on one game at a time.
"They will be smarting from their defeat against us early in the season when we went and put four past them. I've watched them and it seems that going into administration has brought the players closer together.
"They were on the verge of getting into the play-offs beforehand, so they're a good team. They've lost Victor Moses to Wigan in the transfer window but have managed to keep everyone else.
"The spirit they've got and the hard work they deploy amongst themselves is exactly the same as ours, which means it should be a cracking game at the weekend."
