Team news

Palace's on loan striker Freddie Sears is sidelined with an ankle injury while defender Claude Davis has hamstring trouble.

James Vaughan will make his Derby bow after signing from Everton on loan. Steven Davies is still missing, Chris Porter and Giles Barnes are long-term injury victims.

Quotes

Derby winger Gary Teale

"We will be looking for a more solid performance at Palace. Maybe we will go with two banks of four and sit in, trying to hit them on the break, shore things up and get a clean sheet. That's probably the most important thing at the moment.

"When we drew 0-0 at Blackpool, we were more solid, having come off a 3-2 defeat at Scunthorpe, so it is probably going to be another one of those performances.

"The fact that Palace lost 4-0 at home in their last game probably means they will be looking to shore things up too, so it's probably not going to be a classic!

"But we need to get back to keeping clean sheets. If you do that, it is something to build on and you can start nicking games 1-0."
