Team news

Neil Warnock could hand young midfielder James Comley a start after scoring for the reserves in midweek as the Eagles play out the rest of the season in midtable obscurity.

Neil Danns will undergo a late fitness test on a groin injury, while John Oster is a major doubt due to a neck problem. Paddy McCarthy is set for a bench appearance after coming through Wednesday's reserve match unscathed following his lengthy time out with a shoulder injury.

Cardiff should see Joe Ledley back in the side after hamstring trouble forced him to miss the last outing.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Looking at the top four just frustrates me because if we had that little bit more we should have been up there.

"It is frustrating being in this position where we have five games to go but we have Cardiff on Saturday who have a lot to play for, Sheffield United on the last day, Southampton, some great games for me to keep myself geed up."

Cardiff midfielder Mark Kennedy

"Palace was a bit of a strange experience as the move had a lot of promise, but nothing materialised from the team as a whole.

"I played under Peter Taylor for a full season, but then in the second I got injured and the manager was sacked.

"I struggled to get fit again for the new manager (Neil Warnock) and, under the circumstances, with a big contract, they weren’t going to renew it.

"We mutually terminated the contract for the transfer window, but I didn’t have time to regain fitness. I came and trained with Cardiff for a month in February and instantly liked the place."
