Team news

On-loan Derby defender Claude Davis hopes to return to Crystal Palace's starting XI after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Fellow centre-half Paddy McCarthy (shoulder) is still recovering from his operation, while recently crowned Championship Apprentice of the Year Sean Scannell (hernia) sits this match out.

QPR striker Heidar Helguson is unlikely to play after having to miss Iceland's midweek loss with a hamstring problem.

Centre-half Damion Stewart is available after shaking off a knock, while former Palace defender Fitz Hall returns from a back injury.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Paddy McCarthy will hopefully be able to go into proper training as at the moment he is not doing contact stuff. I think Saturday will probably be too early but I don't know. He has been training for the last six weeks but hasn't had any sort of games."

QPR midfielder Jordi López

"Saturday's match is very important for us. We need to continue our recent good form, picking up where we left off against Bristol City before the international break. We played very well in our last two home matches and this is a good opportunity to build on that.

"We know it is going to be very difficult for us to reach the play-offs, but we all still believe we have a chance. Anything is possible until the mathematics say otherwise."
