Glanford Park, Saturday 3.00pm
Scunthorpe are the second newly promoted team that Neil Warnock gets to take on within the first month of being Palace manager.
They've had a decent start and acquitted themselves well in their first few months in a higher league. They're scoring goals and keeping enough clean sheets to think that a mid table finish is a reasonable landmark to aim for.
There is one thing that might be their downfall - their over reliance on one player to score their goals.
Manager Neil Warnock is poised to stick with 17-year-old left-back Lee Hills in place of Tony Craig after making an impressive debut against Watford on Saturday.
Tom Soares completes the final match of a three-game suspension. Paul Ifill, Paul Dickov, Danny Butterfield, and Mark Kennedy are all injured for the Eagles.
French winger Franck Songo'o is set to keep his place on the right wing after a sparkling display against Waford, while John Bostock, 15, hopes to shake off a knock picked up during his debut in that game.
Scunthorpe Keeper Joe Murphy has a thigh problem, so Josh Lillis is will take his place between the posts.
Matt Sparrow (hamstring) is still doubtful which means Jack Cork will step in.
Nigel Adkins: "Palace will be another tough, tough game for us," said Adkins in his pre-match press conference. "Neil Warnock is well versed at getting teams promoted, as he has done several times in the past.
"He has gone in there and will change things around. They will play a very direct game, as we saw against Watford on Monday night.
"Straight away he brought on a 17-year-old for his debut who can throw a ball the length of the pitch. His intention is to get the ball forward, get it in the mixer and try and win as many knockdowns as they can.
Neil Warnock: "Scunthorpe's a very tight ground and we have to compete. It's not a place where you can play a lot of football. It's different to Cardiff where they like to play a little bit."
"Fitness-wise, we're a bit thin on the ground."

Martin Paterson
Martin Paterson - 7 goals
Cliff Byrne - 3 1
The 20 year old joined Scunthorpe from Stoke during pre-season.
He's had very little experience at this level, having only played a handful of games for Stoke before being shipped out on loan to Grimsby.
He's made an impressive start for his new team, scoring 7 goals in 11 starts.
Paterson has just been called up to the Northern Ireland Senior Squad for the first time.
