Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm
Jim Magilton's managerial career at Ipswich began with a loss to Palace on the first day of the season.
Ipswich then failed to win for the next 6 games and it looked like Magilton could soon be out of a job.
Fortunately for Jim, they then went on a winning spree and remained unbeaten for a month, but inconsistancy set in and they made there where to mid-table where, like Palace, they are likely to remain.
In their recent away games, they have stuck 5 in midfield and have made themselves difficult to beat whilst winning games by a single goal.
Like Palace, Ipswich are hoping to creep into the playoffs. They are currently sitting on level points with Palace going into the match.
Wingmen Stuart Green and Paul Ifill are rated doubtful after picking up injuries in the 0-0 midweek draw at Sunderland.
Green's shoulder popped out during the game and recent signing Ifill hurt his wrist, so Tom Soare will step in.
Taylor said: "Stuart's a doubt, because his shoulder was quite sore after Tuesday's game. He had a scan on Thursday to see how serious it is.
"Paul Ifill took a whack on his arm in the same game. He also had a scan, so we’re just awaiting the results of that."
Gabor Kiraly will be looking to keep his place in goal after his clean sheet at Sunderland.
Dougie Freedman and Clinton Morrison will battle it out for a starting place after being left out of the side against the Mackems.
Ipswich defender Alex Bruce returns after serving a two-game suspension.
But Richard Naylor (toe), top scorer Alan Lee (hamstring) and midfielder Gavin Williams are doubts. Jason De Vos is still sidelined with a broken metatarsal.
Peter Taylor: "If the players aren't confident enough at home because they know if they make a mistake they will get a bad reaction, that's not healthy."
"Selhurst Park is a very important place to us and we've got to be there helping each other," he added
"The supporters pay fantastic amounts of money to watch us and we'd love to have a million people watching us every week so I'm not looking to lose fans and as much as I appreciate their support, I just wish they'd count to 10 a bit more.
"The away support and majority of the home support has been magnificent throughout and I'm not just having a go at the home supporters, as it's just a few supporters.
"They badly want to win and we badly want to win but just because we lose to someone, it doesn't mean we don't try hard.

Alan Lee
Alan Lee - 12 goals
Alex Bruce - 10 0
Despite Lee's size, he is very good at going to ground when a gust of wind hits him. Having already conceded four penalties this season, Lee would be the perfect player to go over in the box.
After a ridiculous dive at Portman Road, he threw his toys straight out of the pram and stamped around the pitch.
Unfortunately for us, Lee is the top scorer at Ipswich with 12 goals to his name. Unfortunately for Ipsiwch, Jon Macken was the third highest scorer, which shows how poor they have been in front of goal at times.
