We all knew that Bangladesh away was going to be a tough game. We'd not won there over a decade and very few teams win at Kenilworth Road.
For the second year running, Palace didn't turn up. Whether or not they took the wrong turning at passport control or entry to the country was refused, we still don't know.
Central midfield thought it would be nice if they didn't challenge for the ball in a midfield position. Even when they didn't have the ball they were scared to launch any sort of forward attack.
McAnuff thought he was still on the plane to Luton - that's the only reason I can think for him being a passenger all game. He lacked movement, attacking nouse and did little with the ball when he had it.
Soares isn't a winger but he still did more in a wide position than McAnuff. Tom got to the byline, beat his man and put in a cross for the hard working Scowcroft to head in.
The defence was shambolic. Granville thought he'd wave Carlos Edwards through after being well and truly beaten. Danny Butterfield found his way to the wrong part of India and seemed to favour playing in central midfield.
It wasn't a great game but it was better than the comedy performance from last year.
So tomorrow, Southampton roll into town. They brought in Rasiak on loan from Spurs last season which materialised into a permanent deal at the beginning of the transfer window.
He's currently in fine form and scored 4 from 6. He's a big, powerful striker can score with either foot and his head. The Szczecin born striker has good technical ability and will score goals at this level.
Although Southampton could and should have beaten us last seson, they didn't. AJ and Morrison put two past them in what probably involved two of our four attacking moves in the game.
However, they haven't beaten us at Selhurt for 14 years. They won 2-1 with Iain Dowie scoring twice for them and Eric 'Ninja' Young scoring for us.
We've got the new Ninja but they don't have a new ugly bastard, so hopefully we can nick this one.
As a side note, it's orange night tomorrow night so we can pay homage to our lovable *ahem* chairman.
That's it for this week, I'm off for a Tango in preparation for tomorrow. Let's hope that Agent Orange does his job and cripples the Saints.
