Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm
AJ has missed the last two fixtures with a gashed thigh and has a strong chance of featuring.
Boss Iain Dowie would then have to decide whether Clinton Morrison or Dougie Freedman would partner Johnson in attack.
Midfielder Aki Riihilahti (groin), winger Marco Reich (ankle) and defender Mark Hudson (ankle) are doubts, while striker Jon Macken (back) won't feature.
Defenders Danny Granville (knee) and Danny Butterfield (pelvis) are still sidelined.
Norwich midfielder Andy Hughes is doubtful due to a hamstring injury. Jason Jarrett or Dickson Etuhu will replace him.
Forward Leon McKenzie could play against his old club after coming back from injury.

The 'One to Watch' caused me a couple of problems for the coming game V Norwich, so I’ve done a ‘One or Two to Watch’.
The departure of Ashton left a gaping whole up front which has been exceptionally replaced with the Wales international Earnshaw, who originates from the Zambian province of Wales, and the Swede from Stockholm - Jonatan Johansson.
These two have already started filling the void left by ‘Big Dean’ by chipping in with 2 goals a piece from 4 starts. Earnshaw and Johansson are similar players but have already shown that they can work together. Both enjoy playing off the shoulder of the last defender, attempting to beat the offside trap before running onto any long balls that are kicked at them. Sound familiar?
Johansson is capable of holding up play, allowing certain players to get into the box and fall over with the gentlest contact that they could ever receive. It would be rude of me to mention such names though; it may in fact upset some people if I call Darren Huckerby a diving cheat – so I won’t.
That’s it from me, well – nearly. Come on, all together in your best alcohol induced, Norfolk accents – Letzbe Avin Yaaaaaaa.
