Madejski Stadium, Saturday 3.00pm

Nationwide Division One

Team news

Despite what many fans will be thinking at this point in time, Trevor Francis does not believe that Palace’s season is over, despite being 12 points away from the play-offs with just 11 games to go.

Having scored twice for the reserves in midweek Dougie Freedman will be hoping to be in the starting line up to face the Royals on Saturday.

This could see Francis switch to a three man attack with Andy Johnson and Noel Whelan partnering the Scottish international up front.

Meanwhile midfielder Aki Riihilahti will miss out due to a thigh injury while Dele Adebola is still nursing a groin injury.

Reading are currently in 4th place and although an automatic promotion place looks unlikely Alan Pardew’s men should easily be in the play-offs come the end of the season.

Reading have been further boosted by the fact that they have secured the services of Luke Chedwick for another 3 months on loan.

Pardew has very few injury worries and will be looking to take all three points to keep their promotion push going.

Despite inspiring thoughts of the 1930s classic "Nosferatu", the Man Utd winger is certainly not scared of crosses. Popovic and co will have to have to garlic at the ready to thwart the skills of the mancunian.
