Palace v Derby County

Selhurst Park, Tuesday 8.00pm

Routledge - Looking to impress once again

Routledge - Looking to impress once again

Team news

Barring any last minute injuries, Trevor Francis is likely to stick with the starting eleven which beat Wolves 4-2 on Saturday to lift Palace to 14th in the table.

To do this Francis has had to gain permission from the FA for young starlet Wayne Routledge to missout on an Under-19 match against Hungary. Following impressive performances against both Plymouth and Wolves Routledge should start on the right wing leaving Tommy Black once again sitting on the bench.

There are still a number of first team players recovering from injury. Shaun Derry has had to have an operation as has Matt Clarke following recent injuries. This means that both Stevie Thomson and Alex Kolinko will have a few more matches to prove themselves in the first team.

Derby County were relegated last season and have not started the new campaign in the best of ways, currently lying in 15th place. Not only do Derby have the same amount of points as Palace, the Rams probably have about the same number of injuries too.

Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee could miss out on the trip south after picking up an Achilles injury during the 3-1 defeat to Leicester. Giorgi Kinkladze was said to be suffering from cramp when he left the field on Saturday however the Georgian should be back in action by Tuesday night.

However one important absentee will be Italian striker Fabrizio Ravanelli who is suffering from an Achilles problem which has forced him to miss the past six matches. This should see Christie and Morris leading the attack for derby.
