Crystal Palace lost the friendly game against Premiership newcomers Fulham, at Selhurst Park.
It was a decent result considering how superior Fulham were to the rest of the division last season and their neat passing game was evident.
However, Palace did have a couple of chances of their own in the first half. Jovan Kirovski had a shot cleared off the line from a corner and Kirovski again forced a good save from Fulham keeper Maik Taylor from 20 yards on 37.
A few minutes before the interval, a communication problem between Hayden Mullins and Alex Kolinko allowed Boamorte a shot, which Kolinko saved easily.
Louis Saha was causing the Palace defence problems and he showed a glimpse of what was to come on 53 with a shot just wide. Shortly after, he put Fulham into the lead, firing home from a cross on the left.
Palace pushed for the equaliser and Kirovski was denied again when he saw his header deflect off a Fulham head, from a Jamie Smith cross.
In the 63rd minute, Dougie Freedman was unlucky with his lob which went high over the bar. After this, Taylor was on hand to tip away a 25-yard Julian Gray free kick.
Possibly the best chance of the game fell to Andrejs Rubins with 10 minutes of the game to go. He was sent through with a one-on-one with the keeper, but Taylor was on hand to snatch the ball from his feet.
