Tue Jul 24 2001 - Friendly
Crystal Palace won the final west country pre-season friendly against Exeter by five goals to nil.
Steve Bruce's men scored their first goal after 32 minutes when a pinpoint cross from Julian Gray was laid off by Jovan Kirovski and Dougie Freedman fired home.
Ten minutes later, Clinton Morrison made it 2-0 after getting on the end of a Freedman through ball. And one minute before the half time whistle, Wayne Carlisle got Palace's third.
Freedman scored his second of the evening on 65 minutes, deflecting a Steve Thomson shot from outside the box.
Matt Gregg made a couple of good stops from the Grecians and at the other end Stephen Kabba, Morrison and Freedman all had chances to add to the tally.
But in the last minute it was Morrison who completed the rout with a fine goal to make it 5-0.
