Palace opened their pre-season campaign with an emphatic win over local Spanish part-timers San Pedro, with a 4-0 win.
The Eagles should have played Croatian First Division outfit NK Cakovac the day before, but the opposition was changed to the Spanish side at the last minute.
Young striker Stephen Kabba had a series of chances early on, but could not find the net.
It was Jamie Smith who scored the opening goal, eight minutes before half time after a good through-ball from David Hopkin.
Palace played the first half with Mullins and Berhalter as central defenders with Rubins and Smith as wingbacks.
On the hour mark, Steve Thomson made it 2-0 to the visitors after a good combination down the right hand side by Carlisle and Steve Kabba.
Gregg Berhalter made it 3-0 on 78 minutes after going on a run, beating two men and fired home past the Spanish keeper.
On 82 minutes, Wayne Carlisle scored the final goal for Palace curling the ball into the top corner from the right hand side of the box after a fine run by Rubins.
Kabba impressed as Freedman's striking partner, but he failed to score from 12 chances.
