Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell has thanked Crystal Palace for helping his game while he was on loan at Selhurst Park.
The Finnish international was on loan with the Eagles from February 2000 to May 2001, scoring 18 goals in 62 appearances over one-and-a-half seasons.
He helped Palace twice avoid relegation from the First Division, linking up well with Clinton Morrison, and his technical ability was clearly evident.
He said: "It was good to feel an important player for the team. I knew I could play before, but in the First Division I learnt how to wrestle.
"It toughened me up so now, I can play and wrestle. I say a big 'thank you' to Palace."
