Palace's attempts to secure the signing of Leicester City's Ade Akinbiyi may still be successful.
Leicester City manager Dave Bassett said the deal is "not dead".
Akinbiyi has only scored two league goals for Leicester this term and a move to Wolves was on the cards earlier on in the season.
However, the move came to nothing and Trevor Francis has decided to offer a lifeline to the striker.
Bassett said: "It is still in the pipeline but I don't know how it will work out. It's not dead but if it happens, it happens. We're no further forward than that at present."
