Andrejs Rubins has joined French club Troyes on trial.
Rubins, a Lativan international, who has scored 2 amazing goals for Palace since his signing in October 2000, has become somewhat of a mis-fit at the club in recent times.
He has failed to settle in, and adapt to the English style of play in the first division, and is seeking a move elsewhere.
Troyes who are currently 9th in the French Le Championnat, have taken Rubins on trial to see how he performs. Troyes beat Newcastle earlier this season in the Intertoto Cup final.
Assistant boss Steve Kember criticised Rubins at a fans forum this season, labelling him "a waste of space".
