Crystal Palace have shown an interest in signing Charlton bad boy defender Andy Todd.
But new Birmingham boss Steve Bruce is also keen on the former Bolton man and wanted to sign him when he was Palace boss.
Todd has been out injured with a knee injury and was suspended by Charlton after a training ground bust-up with Dean Kiely.
When he gets back to full fitness the Addicks will be keen to off-load the £500,000 rated centre-half whom they signed in 1999.
Agent Richard Cody said: "It is common knowledge that Steve Bruce has been interested in Andy for a long time.
"The only reason that it didn't happen before was Steve's situation with Crystal Palace.
"Steve Kember has shown an interest in him as well, but I'm not sure about Trevor Francis.
"Andy is four weeks away from being fit so nothing will happen until then."
