Trevor Francis looks set to bring Birmingham City's joint caretaker manager Mick Mills to Selhurst Park.
Steve Bruce is likely to take charge of Birmingham in the coming weeks and Palace's reserve team boss Mark Bowen looks set to follow him to St Andrews. This will leave Mills free to rejoin Francis at Palace.
Francis said: "I keep hearing that Mark is leaving. If that proves to be correct there's a place here for Mick."
