Nottingham Forest centre back Christian Edwards has signed on loan with a view to a permanent move.
The 25 year old Welsh International will be eligible to play against Crewe on Saturday.
Since Paul Hart was appointed manager of Forest, Edwards has only started 3 times this season. Last season he featured 36 times for Forest and scored 3 goals.
Edwards told the Official Nottingham Forest website: "I was on my way home from training and got a call from the manager's secretary to return to the ground.
"Paul Hart told me Crystal Palace had come in for me and asked me whether I wanted to go.
"Unfortunately, I haven't been a regular at Forest this season. Palace have offered me the opportunity to play first team football and I've decided to take it.
"Paul Hart is happy to let me go. He obviously feels he has enough cover for the central defensive positions. Now it's up to me to impress Palace enough to earn myself a permanent move."
Edwards added: "It's a shame that I haven't figured on a regular basis this season but it's still a wrench to leave Forest because I've made some great friends in my four years at the club."
