Selhurst Park, Saturday 3.00pm
New signing Emmanuel Adebayor won't start the cup tie as he is not yet match fit but he could occupy a place on the bench and be called upon late on.
Bakary Sako (hamstring) and Yannick Bolasie (knee) are still out, while Dwight Gayle is close to fitness but could be rested ahead of any potential transfer that may see him leave.
Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam has torn his calf and is sidelined for around six weeks and he joins Geoff Cameron (ankle) and Ryan Shawcross (back) on the sidelines. Manager Mark Hughes may rotate some players after the midweek extra-time League Cup defeat at Liverpool.
Roy Hodgson
"I see in him [Emmanuel Adebayor] a desire to get his career back on track, and I think I can help him. I’m hoping that’s a win-win situation for him and for us.
"He’s a character that needs to be loved and the group I have, he’s going to get that. For us it’s about bringing in a striker to give everyone a boost. We all felt sorry for ourselves, no [Yannick] Bolasie, Connor [Wickham’s] now suspended, so it’s great for us.
"You can see in the training ground there’s a lift already. He’s done the first part of his job because everybody is really pleased he’s here. The only risk is if he doesn’t play well. I can’t see any other risk. I think we discard players quite quickly, and sometimes too early.
"I’d be foolish to say [Stoke playing extra time in midweek] woud’n’t give us an advantage. They had a tough game and Mark will probably be toying with what is his best team - whose got the energy to play a tough cup game at Crystal Palace.
"Those factors might play a part or they might not. Sometimes midweek games get you in the zone. You can never really tell. There is a different mentality - sometimes Premier League games are petering out for a draw and you are protecting that point.
"In the cup you don’t want a draw - you want to win. It makes life a bit more focused for players on the pitch. You want to get into the next round right there and then at Crystal Palace."
Mark Hughes
"He [Emmanuel Adebayor] is a great player. If you get him going and on fire, then he is a real handful. I had him at Man City.
"For whatever reason he seems to court a little bit of bad publicity about himself as a person and as a player, but I never really experienced it – I enjoyed working with him. I thought he was a good guy and played really well. He’s a top player and a good acquisition for Palace.
"It is a tough period we are in, with away games with very little respite. But we want to get positive results on the board, and we want to progress in the FA Cup.
"The disappointment of not getting to a Wembley final is still with us, so to progress in another competition that leads to Wembley would be a great tonic.
"It's a great competition and we want to stay in it. There's only so many competitions we can win and the FA Cup now is the only one realistically - so why wouldn't you have a go? We are certainly of that mindset. It is a competition that was very good to me as a player and as a manager I'd love to have success in it."
