Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne has been named in the Professional Footballer's Association's Championship team of the year.

The 21-year-old right-back, who is being courted by Manchester United, had another impressive campaign for the Eagles making 31 appearances.

Clyne won Palace's 2011 Player of the Year award and is shortlisted to play for Great Britain at this summer's Olympic Games.

The PFA Championship team is: Kelvin Davis (Southampton), Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace), James Tomkins (West Ham), Curtis Davies (Birmingham), Ian Harte (Reading), Adam Lallana (Southampton), Peter Whittingham (Cardiff), Mark Noble (West Ham), Matt Phillips (Blackpool), Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Jay Rodriguez (Burnley).

Clyne's contract expires in the summer and he has been offered improved terms to stay at Selhurst Park.

Manager Dougie Freedman said: "We've offered him a new contract, an improved one. We're still trying to keep in line with the current wage structure and we're just waiting for Nathaniel to come back to us.

"I think he's progressing and should stay a little longer, he is getting better. He needs to be careful he doesn't jump ship too early but that is his choice."
