Selhurst Park, Tuesday 7.30pm
Left-back Dean Moxey returns to the Crystal Palace squad after completing a four-match ban for getting sent off last season. On-loan defender Ryan McGivern could step aside for him.
Kagisho Dikgacoi is out for at least a month with a hamstring injury, Owen Garvan is struggling with a hip problem, forward Glenn Murray has an ankle problem, while right-back Nathaniel Clyne is out with a foot injury. Alex Marrow (ankle) and Lee Hills (knee) are still sidelined.
New signing Anthony Gardner needs to build up match fitness having not played this season.
Crawley's Matt Tubbs is likely to return to the side after a headache meant he had to sit out the Red Devils' last match. Midfielder Dannie Bulman and skipper Pablo Mills (both ankle) plus defender Jamie Day (back) are missing.
Steve Evans
"We have had a fantastic return of 10 points from a possible 12 in the Football League and of course enjoyed a comfortable win over AFC Wimbledon which earned us right to be at Selhurst Park in the Carling Cup.
"Both teams have started the season well but make no mistake we go into this game as huge underdogs and that will not happen many times in the season ahead.
"Dougie Freedman is a friend of mine and I think they have surprised a few people with the start they have made but it hasn't surprised me in the slightest.
"Dougie could prove to be one of the best young managers around. He has recruited well in the summer and they go into the game on the back of a fabulous win over Hull City on Saturday.
"It is going to be our toughest challenge of the season so far but it is a game everyone is looking forward to. We will go there with a game plan. We will look to take the game to the opposition as we always do and Palace will know from the friendly last month that we have players who will enjoy and relish the occasion."
"We've had a good start to the season and the focus is now on the Crawley game. I think it's important we keep the momentum going.
"We had a light session [on Monday] in preparation. We weren't told who would be playing and who wouldn't yet, we'll find that out [today].
"But whoever it is will go out there determined to get the right result. Even with the injuries we've got, the gaffer has got a good squad of players to choose from now."
