Dougie Freedman has made his first summer signing with the acquisition of Brighton striker Glenn Murray.
Murray, who has signed a three-year deal, played an integral role in Brighton's League One title win last season where he scored 22 goals in 50 appearances.
The move from Palace's arch rivals will no doubt anger many Brighton fans but Eagles boss Freedman believes the 6ft forward will prove to be a valuable addition.
Freedman told the official website: "Glenn is a player who I have been looking at for some time and fits the profile for the type of player that I want to add to the squad here ready for the new season.
"He has shown what he is capable of with a fine scoring record last season in helping Brighton achieve promotion to this level."
Palace fought off competition from Millwall and Southampton for the 27-year-old's services.
