Crystal Palace boss George Burley plans to bring in a raft of new signings in the January transfer window to boost his struggling team.
The Eagles slumped to a heavy 3-0 loss at Nottingham Forest on Saturday to remain in the relegation zone.
That defeat was the ninth out of 11 on the road for Burley's side this season and the manager admits the team needs to be improved.
"We are looking to strengthen the squad in January as our options are limited," he said. "Some of our loan players could go back which would give us an option to get new ones in and we have pinpointed some that we want.
"The owners are aware what we need to do and I think we need to do our up most to bring four or five players in when the window opens."
He added: "Forest was a game where we never got going. We gave away poor goals and our defending was poor.
"We gave players responsibility at set pieces and general play and they let us down, they let the fans down. I apologise to the fans because we’ve got to be better than that."
