Football icon Edgar Davids has quit Crystal Palace.
The former Holland international midfielder only joined in August on a pay-as-you-play contract after spending two years out of the game.
Davids made just seven appearances due to a couple of niggling injuries while he also took compassionate leave to visit his sick father in Holland.
He announced on his Twitter page: "Today I have decided that my journey as a player of Crystal Palace FC has come to an end.
"I want to thank all the people who supported me and gave me one of the greatest experiences of my life."
The official Palace site added: "The club would like to thank Edgar for his time at Palace and wish him all the best of luck for the future."
The rigours of the Championship may have taken its toll on 37-year-old Davids but Palace fans will never forget the sight of the goggle-clad player wearing the famous red and blue kit.
Manager George Burley said: "I spoke to Edgar and we decided it was probably better that we draw a line under him being at Palace.
"He was a smashing lad and I enjoyed working with him but it was a big ask for him after being out of the game for two years. We've got to look to the future."
