Crystal Palace full-back Rhoys Wiggins will miss the start of pre-season due to a knee injury.
The Wales U21 left-back has undergone surgery and will be sidelined for three weeks of Palace's summer camapign.
Wiggins suffered a cruciate ligament injury on the same knee three years ago and had hoped to have recovered.
But the problem flared up after he received a knock in February and scans showed bone debris and bruising.
The 21-year-old is stalling on signing a new one-year contract offered to him with his current deal expiring at the end of the month.
He had a spell on loan with League Two Bournemouth at the end of last season and the Cherries are keen to sign him full time.
