The Football League
As we enter November the season already looks like turning into mid-table mediocrity for Crystal Palace, by Danny Hayes.
Nobody, not least me, expected Forest to leave Selhurst with three points on Tuesday but they were full value for that victory and that meant a third game without a win.
The visit of Sheffield Wednesday offers a quick chance to banish the memories of Tuesday’s painful defeat and the even money about doing so looks fully merited. Wednesday have been woeful in recent weeks, with only a fortunate derby win over United from their last five games.
They have an awful away record, with just a victory at Charlton, have been conceding far too many and their best striker Marcus Tudgay is a doubt. With all this taken into consideration I really think Palace are a good thing to re-find their winning grove again.
Back Palace @ Evens with Stan James, Skybet and BetDirect.
Also in the Championship this weekend there looks to be value in a treble on Burnley (5/6) to defeat Norwich, Swansea (6/4) away at Doncaster and Preston (4/5) to home to Southampton.
Back Burnley / Swansea / Preston treble @ 7/1 with all leading bookmakers.
