Crystal Palace have swooped for striker Craig Beattie on a month's loan from West Bromwich Albion.
Beattie, 24, has made 29 appearances for the Baggies since arriving from Celtic in the summer of 2007.
The front man wants to get first team games under his belt and fight for his place in the Premier League side's line-up when he returns.
Eagles manager Neil Warnock is in desperate need of re-inforcements as current target men James Scowcroft and Alan Lee through are sidelined with injuries.
Beattie said: "I had a call from my manager yesterday to say that Crystal Palace wanted me to come down and I was delighted to be getting the chance to have some games.
"I am looking forward to the chance to help the club climb the table and hopefully that can start straight away this weekend at Portman Road."
Warnock said: "We are delighted to have him on board. It's a deal that will suit both clubs."
