Hill: Looking delighted to have scored

Crystal Palace's first pre-season friendly ended in a 1-1 draw with Bromley.

Palace started with a relatively strong side with a midfield pairing of Shaun Derry and new signing Nick Carle.

Paddy McCarthy also played his first game in a Palace shirt partnering Clint Hill in central defence for the majority of the game.

There were also starting places for Paul Ifill, Dougie Freedman, Lee Hills and Rhoys Wiggins amongst others.

Bromley, being coached by ex-Palace chairman Mark Goldberg, took the lead in the first half when the Eagles failed to clear the ball from a corner and the ball was slotted home from close range.

It wasn't until the second half when Palace finally equalised, through a shot from Clint Hill.

Neil Warnock made a number of substitutions towards the end of the game which gave him a chance to see more of the youth players get a run out.

Palace continue their pre-season with a trip to Crawley on Monday evening.

Palace: Speroni, Butterfield, McCarthy, Hill, Wiggins, Hills, Derry, Carle, Dayton, Freedman, Ifill

Subs: Dalhouse, Smith, Djilali, Watson, Carolan, Cadogan, Abnett, Comley, Bingham
